Invest in Our African Farm

Our Sustainable Farming Projects

Koro Farm stay and Farm shop is committed to promoting sustainable agriculture and environmental stewardship through a variety of integrated farming activities. These projects reflect our dedication to eco-conscious living, community support, and land regeneration. Here's an overview of the key agricultural initiatives on our farm:

1. Crop Farming

Our farm practices organic crop farming using regenerative agricultural techniques. We grow a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, and herbs that are cultivated without synthetic chemicals or pesticides. This ensures that our produce is not only healthy for our guests but also promotes long-term soil fertility and biodiversity. The crops are used in our farm-to-table restaurant, ensuring a fresh, local dining experience.

2. Beekeeping

We are dedicated to supporting pollinators through our beekeeping project. Beekeeping not only produces organic honey for sale and consumption but also enhances the farm’s biodiversity by supporting the natural pollination of our crops. The bees thrive in our pesticide-free environment, and the honey we produce is ethically harvested, contributing to local livelihoods and the health of the ecosystem.

3. Fish Farming

Our fish farming initiative focuses on sustainable aquaculture, offering a source of high-quality protein while minimizing environmental impact. By using sustainable feed and natural pond management, we aim to create a balanced, self-sustaining ecosystem. The fish produced on the farm are used in our restaurant and sold locally, providing both nourishment and economic support to the surrounding community.

4. Free-Range Livestock

We prioritize ethical animal husbandry through the management of free-range livestock, including chickens, goats, and cattle. The animals are raised in a natural, open environment, allowing them to graze freely and engage in their natural behaviours. This not only ensures the highest welfare standards for the animals but also results in healthier, nutrient-rich products such as eggs, milk, and meat, which are used in our farm’s dining offerings.

5. Tree Planting

Our tree-planting project is a core part of our commitment to environmental conservation. We plant native and fruit-bearing trees throughout the farm to enhance biodiversity, combat soil erosion, and sequester carbon. This reforestation effort helps mitigate the effects of climate change while creating a more resilient landscape. The fruit trees also provide an additional source of food for both our guests and the local wildlife.
